If the amount of zinc absorbed through the diet is insufficient, or if the immune system is badly weakened, dietary supplements or an immune vaccine such as Kijimea® may also be considered after consultation with the doctor.

Normally, a healthy person can consume all the necessary substances via a balanced diet, so that an additional intake of vitamins or trace elements is not necessary.
