Tilidine is an artificially produced active substance used in strong analgesics. Sadness gained the substance by its popularity in the drug scene. Also, some youthful thugs allegedly take Tilidin to be less sensitive to pain and less inhibited in a fight. It is not to joke with the side effects of Tilidine.
Tilidine: effect and applications
Tilidine itself has hardly any analgesic effect. However, it is converted in the liver into nortilidin and bisnortilidine, which are responsible for the actual mode of action. These substances exert their effect in the central nervous system, where they activate the body's pain-relieving system. Due to its mode of action, tilidine is one of the opioids, ie the opiate-like substances, and thus also has a euphoric, anti-inflammatory effect. It is usually used in severe and very severe pain, for example after surgery, as well as in rheumatic or cancer patients. The substance may be dependent on prolonged use and cause severe withdrawal symptoms.
To prevent abuse, many tilidine drugs are combined with the drug naloxone. This is dosed so that it blocks the action of tilidine in high, intravenous administration. On the other hand, the medically prescribed low dosage, which is taken orally, naloxone has no inhibitory effect on the tilidine. This should be the drug for drug addicts, which usually require a higher dosage to feel an effect, unattractive. However, not all tilidine drugs are combined with naloxone.
Side effects of Tilidine
Both pain patients and illegal tilidine consumers often struggle with the strong side effects of the drug. Side effects of Tilidine include:
- Disturbances of perception and judgment
- sleep disorders
- unfit to drive
In addition, tilidine is dependent on the long term and causes severe withdrawal symptoms. Policemen and experts who observe the abusive use of tilidine also describe a reduced sense of pain, lack of fear, overconfidence, megalomania, cold-bloodedness and in individual cases an increased potential for aggression.
Tilidine: Dosage and withdrawal
Tilidine is available in both drops and tablets. When dosing the medical advice should be strictly observed. As a rule, adults and adolescents take between 20 and 40 drops of tilidine at most four times a day. Children under the age of 14 should take one drop per year of age at most four times a day. In the case of prolonged intake of tilidine, for example in chronic pain or rheumatism, the drug may make dependent. This is also the case when the drug is combined with naloxone, because naloxone is effective only at high doses, as they would probably use drug addicts.
Normal patients taking tilidine at the low dose prescribed by the doctor, therefore, notice nothing of the antagonist and can thus quickly become addicted to the drug. Therefore, withdrawal of tilidine often requires withdrawal. This should always be done under medical supervision, if necessary in a clinic.
