Sodium bicarbonate is used to treat diseases caused by excessive acidity in the body. The white powder ensures that the acids are neutralized and the pH of the blood increases. Deacidification of the body

Soda for heartburn

In case of severe overdose, burns can also occur.
Taking natron in the longer term may increase blood sodium levels and lower calcium levels. If the calcium level is too low, muscle cramps can occur, especially in the calves. An excessively high sodium value may favor the development of hypertension.
In addition, an overdose, as well as a longer-term use of soda increases the risk of kidney stones and a disruption of the body's water balance.
Not recommended in pregnancy
During pregnancy, soda should only be taken after consulting a doctor. Because the powder not only affects the mother's acid-base balance, but also that of the child.
Children under the age of twelve should also take the powder only after consulting a doctor. For them, particular importance is attached to compliance with the dosage information.
Soda instead of baking soda
While baking sodas used to be the primary source of baking soda, baking soda is usually found on the list of ingredients today. This is a mixture of soda and an acidifier. At a temperature of over 50 degrees Celsius, soda reacts with the acidifier and begins to decompose. Among other things, this produces carbon dioxide, which ensures that the dough rises.
If you currently have no baking soda at hand, soda can only be used in certain circumstances instead of baking soda. For while the addition of baking soda always a driving effect is triggered, this is only the case with soda, if the dough contains acidic ingredients.
